self portrait

When starting this piece, I found a gap in my practice because as I was trying to get an outline down on the bristle board I found it much harder to the proportion rights than when I was doing my much smaller studies. I had to rework the proportions on myself portrait several times, this probably because I only had practice in a much smaller size.

The charcoal pencils on the other hand gave me very little problems and I was at least comfortable using them and fairly good foundation for this being first piece I used them for.
